What is Snailzz, and what makes your products different?
We're Açılay and Levent, two designers who met at METU (Middle East Technical University). In 2025 we put our heads together and started turning our fascination with the mesmerizing forms and patterns of snails and slugs into real products. Snailzz is a collective that designs and makes one-of-a-kind decor and lifestyle pieces, inspired by the soft, organic shapes and the colorful, slow-paced worlds of snails and slugs.
With every product, we ask ourselves the same questions: in a world where everything is becoming the same, a copy of a copy, how do we bring back the joy, playfulness, and quirkiness we feel is missing from our homes? How do we interpret these pieces through our own vision? And how can we explore new materials and production methods while staying true to our brand and design style? The answers to those questions become the original, unique products we're proud to share with you.
Every piece we design is a discovery for us, and a playground we have fun exploring. We dream of seeing our products in the homes of people who love creating playgrounds of their own!
How do you make your products?
Each of our products has its own production method. For pieces with electronic components, like the Snailzz Lamp, we hand-assemble the electronic parts in addition to the plastic elements. For products like Chromo Snap, Chromo Set, and Chromo D, we combine the plastic parts with materials such as galvanized sheet metal, cork, or mirror.
We produce the plastic parts in-house using our studio's own setup, modified versions of consumer 3D printers. For the supporting parts (metal, acrylic, cork, mirror) and raw materials (PLA, PETG), we work with our production partners across the Anatolia and Marmara regions. Want the full story? What materials do you use? Are they eco-friendly and sustainable?
As mentioned above, we work with materials including PLA, PETG, galvanized sheet metal and its variants, cork, plexiglass/acrylic, and mirror.
When choosing and using materials, we design for the longest possible lifespan so each piece stays sturdy for as long as it can before it ever reaches the end of its life cycle (i.e., waste management). We pay especially close attention to parts containing plastic, designing them to last as long as possible and to be as easy to recycle as possible. That said, the recycling infrastructure for materials like PETG and PLA isn't yet fully established in our region, so (for now) properly channeling them into the waste-management cycle remains a challenge. How long does shipping take? Do you ship internationally?
To keep our production and order process running smoothly, we hold low-volume stock. During busier shopping seasons, when orders naturally increase, some items may see small delays but in general we prepare and ship your order within 1–3 business days.
For international orders, we currently ship only through Etsy. We're also in talks with retail partners abroad, and we'll keep you posted as things develop!
Are your products fragile? How are mirror/glass pieces packaged?
All our products are made from the highest-quality materials, and our printed pieces use high infill (fill density) rates.(For more on infill and other terms, check out our blog!)For products containing mirror or glass, like Chromo D, the design ensures the glass never directly contacts any surface it might hit, packaged or not. We protect every order with single or double-walled B-flute corrugated cardboard, so your piece arrives in perfect condition.
How do returns and exchanges work? What if my item arrives damaged?
Every product passes through multiple quality checks before it reaches you. But if something slips past us, or if damage occurs in transit, you're entitled to a return or exchange. We hope it never comes to that but if it does, you can reach out to us anytime.
How do I care for and clean my products?
You can clean any product in the Snailzz family with a damp cloth. Just please make sure electronic products, like the Snailzz Lamp, are unplugged before cleaning.
Do you offer gift wrapping or gift cards?
If you mention in the order notes that you'd like gift wrapping, we're happy to help! We don't want to spoil the surprise, but every order arrives with a personalized gift card just for you.
How can I track my order?
For every order, we send your tracking number by email for shipments going out via Yurtiçi Kargo. If your tracking number doesn't arrive, please get in touch with us!
